How does the cat GPS tracker work?
The Kippy CAT GPS cat tracker tracks your pet as quickly and accurately as possible, without distance limits and even in covered spaces
Kippy CAT has a GNSS receiver that interacts with satellites orbiting the Earth (GPS, Glonass and Galileo) to calculate its position, which is then sent to the Kippy app via the telephone network.
Thanks to the innovative 4G LTE Cat-M technology and GSM-2G backup, using the cellular network Kippy CAT can locate your four-legged friend wherever they are, with no distance limits. This is because it always searches for the best cellular network, so whenever your cat is in an area where there is a signal, they will be tracked. What's more, the tracker also uses triangulation of phone cells and WiFi networks, so it can pinpoint your four-legged friend's location even in covered spaces and in GPS-critical conditions.

Thanks to the proprietary algorithm that was developed in collaboration with experts from the University of Veterinary Medicine in Milan (DiMeVet), Kippy is able to monitor your cat's main activities and assign a score that reflects its overall health status.
This score, called the Health Rate, compares your pet's activities with the recommended amount of activity levels based on various factors such as weight, breed and season, providing an indication of its overall health on a scale of 0 to 100.
In addition, the Health Rate is complemented by the Weekly Highlights section, which highlights notable abnormal behaviour such as high stress levels or eating habits that deviate from the average.
Kippy has a state-of-the-art 6-axis accelerometer and gyroscope inside that can detect your cat's movements:
- Steps: the number of steps
- High Intense Activities: includes activities of
- Running: running and fastpaced activity with paws off the ground (similar to a horse galloping)
- Play: playing and quick movements with sudden sprints and jumps
- Walking: when the cat is walking in a moderate speed
- On The Move: when the cat is in relatively still position but not sleeping
- Grooming: the behavior of oral grooming
- Sleeping: sleeping (or immobility of the device)
- Feed: includes activities of eating and drinking
- Jump: the behavior of move quickly from one location to another with jumps
- Calories: the calories that has been burned according to the activities
Kippy is able to define how much activity your animal does overall based on daily activity data and factors characteristic of your animal such as breed, attitude, weight, age, sex and the current season.
You can then monitor whether your four-legged friend has reached their customised activity target, which is recommended to preserve their physical and psychological well-being.
